Africa Mission Trip 2025

In July 2025, the Sydney Adventist Youth Department will be taking a group of youth and young adults to Africa (Zambia) for a 2-week mission trip. This trip will be in collaboration with the Riverside Farm Institute, which is a supporting ministry working in cooperation with the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Volunteers will assist the local mission in a building project and a ministry at the Riverside School. This will be a wonderful opportunity to serve alongside other youth in Sydney while making a big impact on the lives of those we will be Serving.

This mission trip has a capacity of 25 participants. Due to the high volume of interest, our team has decided to give first preference to Sydney Youth. If spots are not filled, registration will open to other conferences.

This trip is intended for young people aged 16yrs +. Anyone under 16 yrs will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Cost:

Trip package = $2500 (Excludes flights – flights will be purchased by you/individual traveller)
Includes – Accommodation, Food, Transport while in Zambia, Travel insurance, Activities, and all extras. Flights and personal spending money are the only cost outside this amount.
Deposit = $500 (due June 30th, 2024)
Final payment = $2000 (due March 31st, 2025)
Fundraising = $500 per person (due May 1st, 2025)
*Note: The estimated cost of flight tickets is $3,500.

Cancellation Policy

** Please Note: Cancellations with a refund – less $12 administration fee – will be granted until June 30th,2024.

After June 30th,2024 no refunds can be given as Accommodation and the like will have been booked.

Photo/Video Consent

I understand and agree that the staff of the event have permission to take photographs and videos of I/my child to be used for marketing purposes unless a signed letter is provided.

If I do not consent, I accept that it is my responsibility to provide the Greater Sydney Youth Department with a clear photo of my child and a signed letter stating no photos are to be taken. The photograph and letter will be kept strictly confidential and used for identification purposes only. Please contact Jacinda Ralph at jacindaralph@adventist.org.au. If you do not do this prior to camp, it will be assumed it is now safe to take photos of your child.

In the event of an accident or illness, I authorise the Event Organiser/s to seek appropriate medical treatment, and consent (where it is impractical to communicate with me) for me/my child to receive any x-ray examination, medical, surgical or hospital treatment as may be deemed necessary by a licensed physician and/or surgeon.

I agree to meet the expense of me/my child for any ambulance or other emergency transportation costs that may be required.

I agree to meet the expense of me/my child being returned home to my home, by the director or leaders accompanying me/our child and then rejoining the group, due to illness or injury.

I understand that such an arrangement may be necessary due to illness, injury, or if, in the opinion of the Event Organiser/s, non-cooperation of any description or the inability to meet the rigorous requirements of the activity by me/my child.
